Bought it new in the 70's and used it to sharpen hand tools while in school. I usually held the tool in my left hand and cranked with the right. I certainly do better work with my electric grinder now, but it was the right tool for the time when I didn't have access to a non people powered one. I had a hand crank drill press at the same time.
